Political melodrama-cum-love story: Danish suburban rooftops substitute for a famous balcony as Rami, a Palestinian refugee chased by a gang of local toughs, declares his love to a highly susceptible Juliet, who defies her xenophobic family. When Rami is precipitately sent off to Germany to help a cousin marooned there, he fails to reach Juliet with a message before he is ambushed and shot to death.
